T. BRETON, EU COMMISSIONER, VISITED DEZAMET S.A.
Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak participated in the meeting held in Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet S.A. with the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton. The main objective of the visit was the review of the possibilities of increasing production capacity in defence companies.
Additionally, the following officials accompanied the event: Sebastian Chwałek – Chairman of the Management Board of PGZ S.A., Przemysław Kowalczuk – Member of the Management Board for Development of MESKO S.A. and the Management Board of DEZAMET S.A.: Jerzy Deruś – Chairman of the Management Board, Managing Director; Krzysztof Zuba – Member of the Management Board, Operations Director, Arkadiusz Duma – Member of the Management Board, Production Director. The officials visited DEZAMET S.A. premises and held meetings with the company employees.
- I am impressed by the quality of ammunition produced in Poland – said Thierry Breton during his visit to DEZAMET S.A. – The company operates on a three-shift, five-day work schedule. Perhaps it will be possible to introduce six or even seven working days due to the fact that this is a wartime economy – he added.
- Defence industry is becoming more and more important for the national defence. Also, it is seen as the provider of security for others. We have held numerous discussions in the European Union in this respect. We have initiated a joint ammunition purchasing programme. Poland joined the programme several days ago. We intend to purchase ammunition together with other countries mostly for the European money – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Mariusz Błaszczak emphasised that the visit of Commissioner Breton shows that enhancing defence capacity of Poland is appreciated. – Commissioner Breton said that he was impressed by the potential created here, in Dezamet. I was very appreciative of all these words since it shows that all our efforts we have made into building defence potential of Poland, purchase orders we place with Polish defence industry, including military equipment and ammunition, have been recognised – said Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak in Zakłady Metalowe DEZAMET S.A. in Nowa Dęba.

Zakłady Metalowe DEZAMET S.A. is a company included in the Polish Armament Group. For years the core business of the company (established in 1939) has been military production. Production aimed at meeting defence needs includes the following types of ammunition: artillery, mortar and for grenade launchers. Additionally, the company provides services and sales with regard to metalworking and electroplating. The company has measuring and chemical laboratory facilities. The company with almost 700 people on the payroll is one of the leading employers in the area.
The flagship products of the company are the following products: 155 mm artillery ammunition for KRAB howitzer, 120 mm mortar ammunition for RAK self-propelled mortar and 60 mm mortar ammunition.
In the years 2019 through 2022 the company was implementing Business Plan (extending production and warehouse infrastructure and purchasing advanced machines and devices), which contributed to adjusting production profile to medium and large caliber ammunition. Having due regard to current market conditions, the company is implementing Strategy for the years 2022 through 2026, which aims at further development of production capacity and increase in sales of key products.
